    December 20, 2020 / No Comments

2020 has been a year for the books!  Living in a pandemic, distance education, transitioning to work at home, learning to wear a mask in public – this year in a pandemic has had such major impacts on all our lives!  My Word of the Year for 2020 was Discipline, and I definitely learned in 2020 that I STILL need more discipline in my life. 2020 actually taught me things in all areas of my life – mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.  This year in a pandemic has touched every single part of me and way I live, and I know I won’t be the same ever again.  Looking back…

    September 13, 2020 / No Comments

Our kids are back at school in person this year, and there are a LOT of creative ways being implemented to keeps our kids safe while they’re there.  Some of those things include masks and additional hand washing, but the majority of those safety precautions involve social distancing. Why I Hate Routines … But We Do Them Anyway

    July 17, 2020 / No Comments

I hate routines … but we do them anyway! I tend to be a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants girl, embracing change and last-minutes plans with gusto.  I like having a full day of nothing planned so I can do whatever comes to mind that day.  I also have a personality type that’s only 3% of the population. The other 97% of the population hates change and thrives with routines.  So, our family has routines, because we need them. A 3-Step After School Routine to Stay Safe in a Pandemic

    July 17, 2020 / No Comments

Anyone nervous about sending their kids back to school in a pandemic?  I sure am!  Schools are germ-infested places and kids are really great at sharing germs!  So how are we going to keep our family safe in the middle of a pandemic? Surprise – we’re implementing a routine!  We’ve got a great plan to add to the school administration’s suggestions of hand washing and wearing masks.  This plan helped us stay healthy back in February and March when the Coronavirus was ramping up and schools hadn’t closed yet.  Our kiddo with weak lungs never caught the virus, and our grandparents who keep the kids after school didn’t catch it…
